Private study

Students will have 178 private study hours. We envisage that this time will be spent thus:

Reading for each lecture: 11 x 6 hours 66 hours
Preparing in-class presentation 20 hours
Preparing and writing research protocol 40 hours
Revision and exam practice 30 hours
For the remaining 22 hours we anticipate that students will use electronic materials, participate in e-learning, and on-line discussion.

Opportunities for Formative Feedback

Student progress will be monitored primarily through their role in student-led presentations (approx. 40 mins in duration) which will feature in the second half of the majority of sessions. Each student will be expected to make substantial individual contributions to this group presentation in terms of preparation, content, and delivery. Verbal feedback will be provided by the teaching staff member for that session. Progress will also be monitored through their contributions to in-group discussions (which may be made both in class and through the online discussion board).
