Objectives
On completion of this module, students should be able to:- review and develop personal skills utilised for study in higher education;
- enhance and develop their transferable skills through personal development planning;
- develop presentation, teaching skills and IT skills;
- demonstrate the ability to access and utilise the library catalogue to retrieve information from electronic and we based resources;
- appreciate the different sources of knowledge and research and its relationship to practice;
- have an understanding numeracy in relation to drug calculations;
Syllabus
This module will enable the student to develop and enhance study and personal development skills required in higher education.
The following themes will be addressed in this module
- Managing time effectively
- Searching the literature using library resources, electronic and web services
- The importance of and evidence base for practice
- Writing assignments
-Using references
- Passing exams
- Make presentations and teaching a skill
- Numeracy and drug calculations
- Reflection skills
- IT skills such as word processing, powerpoint etc.
