Objectives

Supervised clinical practice, delivered to a clear framework of competencies, provides students with opportunities to develop their clinical skills and apply theoretical learning in a range of relevant settings. Trainee nursing associates must experience placements in each of the three health and care settings: hospital, at home and close to home settings. This module provides a wide a range of learning opportunities and contexts to fully deliver the required learning outcomes. The learning environment on placements supports the learning activities on the programme so that learners can apply learning and reflect on both theoretical and applied knowledge.

Learning outcomes
Deliver planned nursing interventions across the life course and in a range of health and /or care settings, under the direction of a registered nurse without direct supervision, delivering care, at times, independently in line with agreed/defined plan of care.
Develop knowledge and skills to fulfil the requirements of the clinical assessment/competency document for year 2 (to be provided by HEE), which will support the assessment of students on placement.
