Module summary

The weekly lectures (60 minutes) will provide details of theory and research from established 'classic psychology' paradigms. This will be disseminated through an intensive 10 week online lecture series (recoded in Mediasite and available under the Media tab in Minerva). An on line essay writing tutorial (delivered by Level 1 personal tutors via Microsoft Teams) will provide students with support and advice to prepare their first psychology essay. The learning experience will be enhanced with completion of Internet Based Learning Exercises (IBLEs) and supporting readings set each week with the exception of week 2 (Essay writing lecture). The reading will be available in digital format. A different course text will be used: M. A. Hogg & Vaughan G. M. (2018) Social Psychology (8th Edition). Prentice Hall. Available as an online book in the library. https://www.vlebooks.com/Vleweb/Product/Index/982272?page=0 This text is available on line at the University library and offers more depth than the previous course text.
