They will have been introduced to state-of-the-art techniques currently in use in research laboratories and will have an understanding of the mathematical, theoretical and conceptual foundations of biomechanics, exercise physiology, motor control and sports and exercise psychology.

Analytical, evaluation and design skills necessary for work in a research environment will have been developed. Specific and/or transferable skills necessary to become a sports and exercise scientist, or someone working in a sport and exercise environment, including postgraduate training and research opportunities leading to for example, physiotherapy, masters by research or PGCE teaching.
