The MSc in Biodiversity and Conservation is designed to provide students with:
- an understanding of the biological principles and institutional framework underlying biodiversity and its conservation;
- a core body of transferable skills required to operate effectively in an academic and/or professional career;
- experience in biodiversity or conservation-related research;
- the opportunity to design a course of study to fit their chosen career paths, to lay the groundwork for further academic work and/or professional development in biodiversity and conservation.

There are 75 credits of compulsory modules and 105 credits of optional modules. Candidates will be required to take 60-90 credits in year 1 and the remaining credits in year 2. BLGY5391M Masters Research Project will be undertaken in year 2.
