Entry requirements:
A 2:1 or equivalent in a relevant subject. Must have a strong grounding in quantitative subjects with high scores in these subjects. Examples could include passes at good 2.1 grade in quantitative modules such as statistics, econometrics, mathematics or management science at ug level and/or exceptionally strong A-level performance in Mathematics or Statistics.
Sufficient proficiency in English as evidenced by one of the following:
- The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), administered by the Educational Testing Service in the US. For the paper-based test a score of at least 580 overall and 4.0 in the Test of Written English are required. The computer-based test requires scores of at least 240 overall and 4.0 in essay-writing. For the internet based test (TOEFL iBT) applicants must achieve a minimum overall score of 92 with a minimum of 21 in Listening, 21 in Reading, 23 in Speaking and 22 in Writing.
- The International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) test, administered by the British Council, in which scores of 6 or more in each section and an overall score of 6.5 are required.

Programme specification:
The programme will support students to develop their abilities to become competent and confident in undertaking collection and analysis of business data and the analysis of such data. Recent years have seen a huge growth, first in the availability of business data and subsequently in the realisation that the analysis and exploitation of this enormous pool of information is highly demanding and requires specific knowledge and skills. Because of the emphasis in the programme on quantitative techniques, but also the complex behavioural factors that underlie the genesis and interpretation of the data sets, the Centre for Decision Research is almost uniquely well-placed in the UK to develop graduates with the skill set and insights required for successful employment and/or further study in this area.
Our graduates will:
1. understand at an advanced level, and have a critical awareness of, current issues in business analytics and the decision sciences, informed by leading edge research
2. be able to analyse data and information, and critically evaluate its relevance and potential use
3. demonstrate awareness and understanding of the practical issues associated with applying business analytic and decision science methods, including an understanding of the organisational factors influencing successful practice
4. be able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
5. be reflective learners, additionally possessing insight and understanding about ethical conduct, environmental issues, and global and cultural awareness.

Students are eligible for the award if they pass the 150 credits of modules (including any pass for progression modules) and achieve an overall average mark of 50 or above, calculated across the 180 credits of modules.
