Programme specification:

This extended degree programme offers an opportunity to those who have the potential and motivation to succeed, but do not have the formal qualifications for entry to level 1.

The first year (level 0) provides a firm grounding in the sciences and mathematics. The year is divided into two semesters. In the first semester a choice is made of four of the five following modules: biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics and transferable skills. In the second semester three of the academic subjects are selected to study at a higher level.

Students successfully completing the level 0 year then all transfer and progress on to level 1 of one of a wide range of science, computing, healthcare and engineering degree courses at the University. Certain degree routes have additional entry requirements requiring students to achieve at a higher level than a bare pass on CFG0, and some also have a requirement that applicants must pass an interview.
