- Where a candidate is not a graduate, relevant professional experience is taken into account.
The key attributes sought are a willingness and ability to think through problems in a reasoned and independent way. Those who enrol on the course are given advice on preparatory readings.

Programme Aims
At the end of the programme students should:
- be able to use philosophical reasoning skills to address issues in applied and professional ethics;
- possess knowledge of a wide range of ethics debates in a range of professional contexts;
- have examined a specific topic in applied/professional ethics (often one that arises for the student in working life) in great detail through their dissertation project.
Distinctiveness of the programme
The programme will:
- be available exclusively to online distance learners, using specially developed teaching materials;
- give students the opportunity to draw heavily on their experiences in the workplace and their wider professional life.
