Entry requirements:
1st or upper 2nd (min 2i)class undergraduate degree in either a physical, biological sciences or one of the cognate disciplines or a medical degree or allied subject with a background in orthopaedics.

Programme specification:
Graduates should have advanced level knowledge and understanding of current technology and research issues in the following areas:
- general research skills;
- anatomical and physiological measurements;
- application of engineering principles to Medical Engineering applications with a focus on MSK sciences;
- biomaterials; and biotribology.
At the end of the programme students should:
1. have acquired high level cognitive and affective domain skills in medical engineering.
2. be able to apply these skills to a novel medical engineering environment with an awareness of the broader issues associated with clinical requirements.
3. be able to communicate, effectively, medical engineering knowledge through a variety of media.
4. be able to manage complex medical and life sciences orientated investigation including the use of skills associated with experimental design, problem solving and critical appraisal.
