Programme specification:
The programme will:
Train highly-skilled graduates who are able to complement deep expertise in their chosen sub-discipline with a broad range of (i) experimental, analytical and modelling skills, and (ii) communication, team-work, leadership and problem-solving skills. In achieving this we will also deliver innovative and robust research outcomes across a range of applications, benefiting both end-users and the wider research community. As members of a multidisciplinary centre, our graduates will be exposed to a much broader variety of formulation problems, and the theoretical and experimental tools used to tackle them, than is usual from a traditional UK PhD, equipping them to be future research leaders in industry, environmental laboratories or academia.
