Programme specification:

The programme will:

This programme combines journalism professional practice, and related legal, political and ethical studies, with the theoretical perspective of journalism studies and journalism research. It draws on the strengths of staff in the institute, both in theoretical and professional disciplines.

It is designed to attract international students who wish to study journalism at MA level, perhaps for the first time, or existing graduates who have a background in journalism, and who wish to engage with new perspectives on their subject. Thus, while work placements are not a feature of the course, students will be encouraged to compare and contrast their own domestic journalistic experience with what they learn and experience at Leeds, and such work will be part of formal assessment.
