Entry requirements:

Normally a 2.1 honours degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline.

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) an overall band of 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in each component skill

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) of 94 with no less than 21 in listening, 23 in reading, 23 in speaking and 24 in writing

Programme specification:

The programme will:
i) provide students with an overview of major philosophical themes in understanding modern science;
ii) develop their analytical skills in relation to philosophical research;
iii) introduce them to current debates in philosophy of science and enable them to locate their own position and pursue their own interests in relation to those debates;
iv) allow students to pursue a personal interest in a specialised area of Philosophy of Science by taking an appropriate elective module;
v) develop students skills in the practice of independent research in a specialised area of Philosophy of Science.
