Programme specification:

The major distinctiveness of the programme is in its coverage of, and focus on, downstream petroleum industry activities. Other existing MSc programmes tend to focus on so-called upstream activities, such as reservoir engineering, although there is also some coverage of drilling and production topics. The proposed programme will concentrate mostly on downstream drilling and production activities, although there will inevitably be some related geological topics (particularly in the drilling sections), and these aspects are expected to prove popular with suitably qualified students who wish to convert from a science or engineering background.
