Programme specification:
The programme will endeavour to provide a very high quality education in the three disciplines of Philosophy, Politics and Economics to students well equipped intellectually to make the most of a programme which is demanding, rigorous and flexible. The programme represents a new departure for us in that students on the programme will be taught for quite a substantial proportion of their time as a cohort. We hope thereby to pilot a new approach to interdisciplinary study which does not simply place students into general-purpose modules, but takes special account of their status as students on a given programme. It is hoped and intended that students on the programme will be able to undertake an interdisciplinary research project as the culmination of their degree programme.
The programme will also have the highest entry requirements of any programme in the School of PRHS and thereby represents an attempt by the School and its partners to attract students of high intellectual calibre to undertake a demanding course of study.
