Entry requirements:

A level - grades AAA, excluding General Studies and Critical Thinking.
GCSE Mathematics - grade A (alternatively grade C at AS or A Level Mathematics).
GCSE English Language - grade B (alternatively grade C if a grade B has been achieved in GCSE English Literature).
For candidates who do not hold a GCSE in English Language and English is not their first language:
IELTS - 6.5 overall, with no skill below 6.0
TOEFL - 92 overall, with no less than 21 in listening, 21 in reading, 23 in speaking and 22 in writing)

Overview:
Leeds is the second centre of banking in the UK - there are over 30 national and international banks here employing 12,700 people. Leeds University Business School is also home to two widely respected research centres, the Institute of Banking and Investment and the Credit Management Research Centre. Taken together, this means that students on the BSc Banking and Finance programme have a unique opportunity to work with highly qualified teaching staff in one of the most student friendly cities in the UK with great graduate and placement opportunities literally on their doorstep.

The programme will produce graduates who are:

- Technically competent in the discipline and well prepared for a successful career in banking and finance;

- Proactive problem solvers with an ability to formulate feasible solutions to complex financial and commercial scenarios;

- Alive to relevance of research in banking and finance and the implications of the current knowledge boundaries;

Candidates will be required to pass at least 100 level 1 credits in order to be able to progress/be eligible for the award of Certificate made up as follows:
- Either pass 90 credits of compulsory modules AND pass 20 credits of additional optional Maths modules (LUBS1260 Mathematics for Economics and Business I & LUBS1270 Statistics for Economics and Business I) if taken;
Or
- Pass 90 credits of compulsory modules AND pass 10 credits of additional optional Maths modules (LUBS1270 Statistics for Economics and Business I) if taken;
Or
- Pass 90 credits of compulsory modules AND pass 10 credits of discovery modules.
