Entry requirements:

A Level or Advanced Higher: AAA-AAB from 3 A2/Advanced Higher including Biology or Human Biology or Chemistry plus another science or science-related subject. General Studies and Critical Thinking excluded.
International Baccalaureate: 35-34 (with 18-16 at HL) including 6 in HL Biology or Chemistry and another science or science-related subject at HL.

Programme specification:

The programme will:

- provide an environment in which students are guided to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes which will equip them to play a leading role in pharmacology or related sciences;
- engender a range of intellectual and personal transferable skills which will be of value in a variety of careers;
- prepare students for further-study either in the workplace or in higher education;
- provide a broad coverage of the principal areas of the subject, as defined by the British Pharmacological Society, and channel the benefits of the School's research expertise into provision of advanced instruction in specialised areas of current scientific prominence;
- require students to undertake projects either in small teams or individually in years two and three;
- provide opportunities for students to undertake an industrial placement and study abroad;
- develop new areas of teaching in response to students' needs and to the advancement of scholarship;
- manage student progress effectively and provide support and guidance where appropriate; and
- encourage staff-student rapport in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
