Programme specification:

The programme will provide the opportunity for science graduates to develop business management skills in the context of the high technology sector, whilst at the same time enhancing their Physics knowledge. This is not simply a Physics Masters with a business or management module appended, rather, it provides the opportunity for a balanced study of key topics from both the Physics and business disciplines. In both cases, the available modules have been carefully organised into themes to guide the students to appropriate choices. The core modules have been defined so that all students are provided with an overview of science based industry, its key practices, and some success cases studies, as well as studying the fundamental principles of business management, decision making, and entrepreneurship. The project is a key distinctive feature of the programme, enabling students to apply the academic principles learned from both the scientific and business disciplines in a detailed study of a high technology commercial challenge. Each project will be jointly supervised by a Physics academic to optimise the academic quality of the work from both the scientific and business perspectives.
