Entry requirements:

The Intermediate Course is suitable for professionals working in psychology, nursing, psychiatry, social work, counselling, voluntary organisations and related fields who have completed a foundation level training in Systemic Family Therapy or equivalent.

Programme specification:

This part time course builds on the knowledge and use of theory and practice in Systemic Family Therapy achieved on the foundation level courses. It concentrates on the development of therapeutic skills with families, couples and individuals and focuses on the application of systemic ideas in participants' work contexts. The training programme includes lectures, workshops, small group work, practice exercises and role play. Course members are expected to present case material for consultation.

The course is accredited by Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice and successful completion of the course meets the training requirement for application to the MSc in Family Therapy.
