Entry requirements:

The course requires three 'A' levels to ABB grades or above (or the equivalent qualifications), preferably including at least one science/maths related subject. General Studies or Critical Thinking do not usually count towards entry.
Applicants without maths or science A level may be considered where they have GCSE in maths or sciences at high grades.

Programme specification:

This programme will provide graduates with a broad understanding of the key aspects of fashion and textile technology that are needed for a career with fashion brands, retailers and the fashion supply chain. Graduates from this programme will also have good knowledge of the dynamics of the fashion industry as it is today and be cognitive of the future directions for the industry. There will be an emphasis on the role innovation and technology can play in addressing some of the key challenges the industry faces in the future, with particular reference to sustainability.

The key themes for the programme are design, technology and management, and they are introduced and developed as the student progresses through the programme. These themes support the aim of stimulating students to consider many different aspects of the industry such as:
- the importance of creativity and innovation,
- the interrelationship between fashion and globalisation,
- the growing drive for sustainability
The programme content will inspire graduates to explore aspects of these themes to ensure they have a broad and holistic view of the how products are developed and how they, as new graduates in the industry can play role in evolving the direction for industry.

Graduates will be equipped with the skills, knowledge and practical experience that will allow them to develop their career opportunities across a diverse range of retail and fashion roles including buying, product development, technology, and retail and supply chain management. There will also be career opportunities to work in the fashion industry supply chain. Alternatively graduates may choose to progress through the taught postgraduate courses within the School which will equip them to pursue research opportunities.
