Entry requirements:

- ABB at A level; GCSE Grade C Mathematics. General Studies may be included.

- Students wishing to consider transferring to the International (Study Abroad) variant of this programme should note that only students with an overall pass mark of 2:1 or above at Levels 1 and 2 are eligible for Study Abroad. Final approval for a transfer to Study Abroad will only be given following the confirmation of marks at the June exam board.

Programme specification:

The programme will enable students to understand scholarship and recent research in Social Policy and Sociology. They will have the opportunity to deploy various techniques of analysis and enquiry within Social Policy and Sociology, and develop a conceptual understanding of Social Policy and Sociological debates and describe and comment on particular aspects of scholarship and recent research in Social Policy and Sociology. They will be able to apply their knowledge and understanding in a Social Policy or Sociology dissertation at level 3.

Study in the programme is structured in ways that provide both breadth and depth, and opportunities for demonstrating proficiency in the application of Social Policy and Sociological concepts and techniques. Opportunities will be provided for students to develop interests and informed opinions and to undertake some autonomous study.
