Programme specification:
This programme of study offers students an integrated and clear progression throughout. There will be extensive opportunity to personalise and tailor learning to suit the needs of the individual students, by means of online learning support.
Students will receive rigorous training in all aspects of research practice, and will graduate with exceptional skills in practical as well as theoretical aspects of the discipline.
The range of research skills training, in an apprenticeship model, provides students with flexibility and autonomy in personalising their learning.

Discovery modules:
Students take one 10 credit Level 2 discovery module (previously known as elective modules) from any department.
The only exception to this rule are language modules. Students in Year 2 may take a language module at any level as these may be particularly useful for students considering changing onto the international version of the programme.

Candidates will be required to study the following compulsory 30 credit project module:

Optional modules:
Optional modules at Level 3 are grouped into three bands:
A = Health/Social Psychology
B = Biological Psychology
C = Cognitive Psychology.
Students are required to select 1 x 15 credit module from each of the bands A, B and C. You select a further 3 x 15 credit modules from any of the bands. Your overall selection must not include more than 3 modules from any one band.
You select modules via the online enrolment website on a first-come-first-served basis. If students select too many modules during the online enrolment exercise, their choices will be deleted and they will be required to start the process again. Students should select 3 modules in each semester for an even spread of workload over the two semesters. Places on level 3 modules are capped so you may not be able to enrol on all of your first preferences.
Please Note: the following two pairings of modules are mutually exclusive ie. within the pairing you can take one or the other, NOT both of these modules.
