Relevant QAA Subject Benchmark Groups:

The programme has been developed with reference to the Subject Benchmark Statement for Nursing (2001). It is also designed to ensure that level 1 maps onto outcomes for the first year of the nursing degree such that, with the addition of a bridging module, students have met required level 1 outcomes for progression to level 2 of that degree and written to comply with curriculum stipulated by HEE.

Programme specification:

The Foundation Degree Nursing Associate (Apprenticeship) is a two year full-time programme. The apprenticeship combines and integrates both academic and work-based learning. It is designed for those who are working in trainee nursing associate roles. The professional experience of students and their ongoing clinical experience are key elements of the programme. In each module, theoretical learning will be grounded and critically examined in relation to clinical practice and there is opportunity to focus and apply this to a range of settings and roles.

The fees for this programme are covered by the employer through the apprenticeship levy.

This course is delivered under the apprenticeship model. The Foundation Degree is awarded by the University of Leeds, after which an end point assessment will be required by your employer to achieve the apprenticeship.
