Entry requirements:

Applicants will;
Be currently registered with the appropriate health care professional body AND
will possess an Honours Degree (normally 2:1 or above) in a Health Related Discipline from a recognised higher education institution AND will be working in an area where agreement has been obtained to develop advanced practice skills, with written support from their manager and the availability of an appropriate mentor AND have a satisfactory application and interview

Opportunities for accreditation of prior certificated learning (APCL) and/or accreditation of prior experiential learning (APEL) are available.

Applicants who have completed previously approved School of Healthcare Post Graduate programmes will enter the programme with advanced standing. Specific examples include;
The Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Assessment (60 credits)
The Post Graduate Certificate in the Care of the Critically Ill Childbearing Woman (60 credits)
The Post Graduate Certificate in the Supervision of Psychological Therapies (60 credits)
The Post Graduate Certificate in Prescribing with Assessment (75 credits)

Students for whom English is not their first language must meet the Universities entry criteria for English language. ibtTOEFL of 92 (21 for listening, 21 for reading, 22 for writing and 23 for speaking)

Programme specification:

The programme will provide students with:

- Access to interprofessional learning.
- Access to a broad range of modules which will allow students to mould their programme of study to their own professional needs and the needs of the supporting organisation.
- A programme in which work based and work related learning is emphasised.
- Flexibility within the programme structure to maximise the opportunities provided by their personal case load within their work environment
- Assessment methods which are linked to the students' practice and work requirements.

Programme Aims:
At the end of the programme students should have achieved the criteria for the award of MSc in Advanced Practice and should have achieved the identified core competencies in that they are;
