Entry requirements:

A bachelor degree with 2:2 (hons) in a related subject or medical or dental degree. New graduates with limited or no work experience in a health-related area would be expected to have a 2.1 or above or a professional qualification with 3-5 years' work experience.
English requirements for candidates for whom English is not their first language:
IELTS: 7.0 overall with not less than 6.5 in every skill.
TOEFL: 600 (paper based) and 250 (computer based).
100 TOEFL iBT with minimum scores of 22 in listening, 24 in reading, 24 in speaking and 25 in writing.

Programme specification:

The programme will benefit from the contribution of a group of internationally renowned tutors who have extensive experience of health services research and epidemiology as well as contributing to the delivery of dental public health services locally and nationally. These tutors include ProfessorGail Douglas (International Caries Detection and Assessment System Foundation), and Dr John Beal (British Fluoride Society). In addition, there are guest tutors from around the world available to remotely contribute to seminars: Alessandro Villa (Post Doc Fellow, Infections and Immunoepidemiology Branch Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics, NIH, USA).
There will also be direct involvement of Public Health England consultants and Specialists in teaching service related elements of the course and bringing to life the theoretical basis of DPH through working examples from around the UK.
Clinical placements (observational only) may be possible with local oral health promotion teams.
