Entry requirements:
Primary Dental qualification that is acceptable to the Council of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Three years full time post-graduation clinical experience in General Dental Practice.
English language requirements for candidates for whom English is not their first language:
IELTS 7.0 overall with not less than 6.5 in every skill.
TOEFL 600 (paper based) and 250 (computer based)
Letter of recommendation from two Senior Clinicians

Relevant QAA Subject Benchmark Groups:
There are no QAA Subject Benchmarks for Masters level taught clinical dental programmes. Benchmarking was undertaken against the appropriate level General Dental Council objectives for dental subject specific postgraduate training programmes.
Further benchmarking was undertaken against the available commissioning guidelines of treatment undertaken by level 2 (dentists with enhanced skills) practitioners.
Programme specification:
The programme will
• Be the only programme in the UK to offer education in Advanced Clinical Dental Practice with a high proportion of clinical hands on experience.
• Allow home practitioners to utilise their own clinical practice resources as part of their education, making it more personalised and applicable to their practising needs.
• Develop advanced, leading edge knowledge and skills in General Dental Practice.
• The programme will provide eligibility to sit the Membership of the Advanced General Dental Surgery examination of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.
• Provide a clinically focussed, cased based learning platform.
• Utilise haptic technology, which includes the use of the largest clinical rehearsal suite in Europe.
