Entry requirements:

- Relevant first degree
- A professional qualification
- Some experience in teaching TESOL teachers is desirable, as well as a minimum of two years of TESOL teaching with five years being desirable.

Non-native speakers of English will be required to obtain proof of proficiency in English Language. You will need to gain:
- IELTS overall score of 7.0;
- or, TOEFL Paper version 600;
- or, TOEFL IBt 100;
- or, Pearson Test of English Academic 68 overall;
- or, An equivalent qualification agreed with Central Student Admissions, University of Leeds.

Programme specification:

This programme is for candidates who are already or hope to be involved in TESOL teacher education. There is increasing international concern with issues of quality and provision in teacher education, and a growing literature on teacher knowledge and teacher learning within the TESOL area as well as more generally.

Students on this programme follow MA TESOL provision in the first semester and in the second are required to take the two consecutive modules on teacher education. In addition, the critical study is written in an area of teacher education. Graduates from this programme should be better equipped to act as teacher educators and/or as researchers in this growing field.
