MSc Senior Leadership (Apprenticeship Route)

Programme code:MSC-BS/SL-PTUCAS code:
Duration:24 Months Method of Attendance: Part Time
Programme manager:Dr Yvonne Moogan Contact address:y.j.moogan@leeds.ac.uk

Total credits: 180

Entry requirements:

Maths and English to GCSE standard is essential (Grade C or level 4 in the new GCSE grading scheme) and certificates have to be provided as proof of evidence. If however, apprentices do not have these basic requirements, it is possible to enter with Functional Skills level 2.

Although a minimum classification of an upper second is the norm for masters level programmes, a lower second class honours degree will be accepted as long as the apprentice has extensive work experience at a senior level (*). Hence lower second, upper second class or first class bachelor degree or international equivalent are the basic requirements. If however, apprentices do not have a first degree, it is possible to review their work history with their professional qualifications and in exceptional cases, allow entry to the programme.

* A background in business or management is desirable but apprentices are also welcome from the health care sector. However, all apprentices must be working at a senior level and have been for a minimum of three years and work experience that demonstrates management responsibilities in charge of managerial roles like for example, systems, finance, HR, IT, logistics, marketing, or selling, is therefore essential.

Applicants whose first language is not English will need to attain:
PAPER BASED TOEFL: At least 580 overall, and 4.0 in the Test of Written English.
TOEFL: At least 94 overall with a minimum of 21 in Listening, 23 in Reading, 23 in Speaking and 24 in Writing.
IELTS test score of 6.5 is required in each section and an overall score of 6.5

Summary Entry Requirements including English Language
2:2 Honours Degree (min)
English and Maths (above)
Minimum of 3 years experience in a health or social care setting for those undertaking this pathway
Minimum of 3 years experience in a leadership and management position
Evidence of relevant professional qualification within the last 3 years if no formal first degree is present
