Programme specification:
The programme will:
- Build on a long and successful history of PGT provision by staff in the School of Law and the Centre for Criminal Justice Studies (CCJS);
- Provide students with advanced knowledge about national and international criminal justice policy and practice, contemporary criminological theory, criminal law and related subjects;
- Encourage students to develop other transferable skills including strong writing skills critical and analytical thinking skills, and oral presentation skills;
- Require students to complete a 10,000-word dissertation. During the course of their dissertation they will receive supervision and guidance from their academic supervisor. They may also have the opportunity to conduct research for their dissertation at an overseas institution, as outlined above.
As members of the School of Law and also the CCJS, students will be part of a lively academic environment and will be encouraged to take advantage of the many extra-curricula opportunities available.
