Entry requirements:

A bachelor degree with a 2:2 (hons) in engineering, physical sciences or a related engineering or
technological discipline where relevant subject areas have been studied. If your degree is in a
managerial or economic discipline, we’ll consider your application if you have at least 3 years of
relevant work experience in an engineering environment. Exceptionally, we will also consider
applications from professionally qualified and experienced candidates who don’t meet the formal
qualifications
All applicants will need to have GCSE English Language at grade C or above, or an appropriate
English language qualification.
Students for whom English is not their first language must meet the University of Leeds entry criteria
for English language, IELTS 6.5 overall, with no less than 6.0 in in any component as stated in the
current Taught Postgraduate Admissions Policy . Where necessary, students will be expected to
improve their English further during the programme by making use of the online English tuition support
that we provide.

Programme specification:

The programme will provide a research-led student education that builds on the success of three long-standing MSc programmes in Civil Engineering (Engineering Project Management, Environmental Engineering and Project Management, International Construction Management and Engineering) as well as the programme in Electronic & Electrical Engineering on Engineering, Technology and Business Management.
Well-proven expertise from the Civil Engineering MSc provides a strong component of project management education to students, whilst the newer EEE MSc introduces elements of strategic management, enterprise and innovation, so that students will become highly effective leaders that are fully conversant with trends in technology and able to manage the impact of disruptive technologies in business. This is crucial in the modern world.

This programme, jointly delivered by five outstanding Engineering Schools, will provide a unique multi-disciplinary approach to education in Engineering Management. Through group work, students will work on a wide range of case studies, sometimes in specialised areas with peers from the same discipline, and sometimes in multi-disciplinary work with peers across the full range of disciplines. In this way, our graduates will have a rather unique understanding of contemporary management education combined with a broad view of technology developments across the full spectrum of Engineering disciplines from nanotechnology through to smart cities. In terms of delivery, the programme will offer an industry leading online learning experience, including accessible and inclusive professional quality learning resources, a wide range of interactive and collaborative learning opportunities, asynchronous and synchronous video / audio online classroom tools, group working activities, case studies, flexible learning opportunities, learning dashboards, digital feedback on assessments, access to key external learning resources and online tutor support. In addition to the core programme offer, students will receive the following support as part of their wider student experience:

1. Dedicated online induction course designed to support international students to gain key online study skills, understand academic integrity and gain acculturation to UK Higher Education.
2. Bespoke online enrichment activities and further study resources underpinning the programme, designed to enable students to engage fully with the Leeds Curriculum core programme threads (employability, ethics & responsibility, global and cultural insight) and research-based learning, as well as with co-curricular opportunities (including alumni engagement) and Leeds University Union activities (e.g. student representation, communities).
3. Access to the University Library's extensive range of online library resources (including eJournals, eBooks and specially digitised resources), relevant to the programme of study.
4. Academic personal tutor support through the University's Leeds for Life system.
5. A tailored programme of professional development support and activity, including discipline specific access to employers, industry experts, alumni etc., careers support via the University's careers service and where appropriate the Faculty of Engineering employability staff.
