Entry requirements:

- GCSE English Language: minimum grade B/6.
- GCSE Mathematics: minimum grade B/5.
- A Level: typically AAA (excluding General Studies, Critical Thinking and Extended Project Qualification).

When English is not the first language, students will need to provide evidence of English language ability through qualifications such as TOEFL (score of 92 overall, with no less than 21 in listening, 21 in reading, 23 in speaking and 22 in writing) and IELTS (score of 6.5 overall, with no less than 6 in listening, speaking, reading or writing), all in accordance with standard Business School entry requirements and policy.

Programme Aims (PA)

Our graduates will:
1. Have an understanding of how the forces of globalisation and the economic, political, legal and cultural conditions of countries and regions present opportunities and challenges to business-people and organisations.

2. Be able to comprehend the complexity, diversity and geographic scope of the strategies, structures and methods used by organisations to extend their activities across national borders.

3. Have a theoretical and practical understanding of the strategic and operational issues that govern the establishment and management of profitable, sustainable and competitive foreign operations.

4. Have the skills, competencies and understanding required to operate appropriately, ethically, productively and with confidence when managing a business in the international arena.

5. Have the intellectual and research skills required to comprehend, analyse and make sense of international business issues.

6. Be able to understand how cultural similarities and differences influence decision-making, interpersonal relationships and business dealings in cross-cultural settings.

7. Have an appreciation of the ethical and environmental issues that have emerged as a result of globalisation.

8. Have the skills, competencies, knowledge and understanding to build a career in international business.

Learning outcomes

1: Students will be able to design, advocate and justify an appropriate internationalisation plan taking into account the political, economic, social and legal conditions of countries. (Programme Aims 1 & 2)
2: Students will be able to identify, collect, appraise and apply country-level data and information to resolve international business-related problems. (PA 1 & 2)
3: Students will be able to engage critically with current literature in the field of international business studies to analyse issues in the global economy and their implications for management practice. (PA 2, 3 & 5)
4: Students will be able to demonstrate the analytical, critical thinking and intellectual skills required to solve international business problems. (PA 1 & 3)
5: Students will be able to define, design, execute and present a significant and extended piece of independent research on an international business topic. (PA 5)

The FLTU-coded modules are intended for students who are complete beginners with no prior knowledge of the language, they are NOT suitable if you already have some knowledge of the language.
