Entry requirements:
To be eligible, students must have passed 120 credits at level 2. They must have achieved a mark of 60 or above in SLSP2010 Sociology and Social Policy Research Methods. They would also be expected to have achieved an average mark of at least 60% across all modules at level 2.

Programme specification:
This programme will:
- Provide students with an operational understanding of the logic and principles of quantitative social research
- Enable students to apply the logic and principles to a range of substantive settings, including case-study and comparative approaches
- Provide the skills to be able to apply a wide range of statistical techniques - from introductory to advanced - on real world datasets to derive social scientific insights.
- Conceive, design and conduct a quantitative social research project from inception to reporting using data management and exploratory and confirmatory analytical techniques, including numerical summaries, data visualisation, hypothesis tests and statistical models.
Such learning outcomes will contribute to students’ capacity to progress to further study at postgraduate level, bring a substantial set of social science analytical tools to the full range of disciplinary Masters and PhD programmes, as well as very strong analytical skillsets for the employment market. Combined with the wide array of subjects in SSP, the applications of QM for undergraduates will be extremely diverse. Graduates from the Pathway programme should enter the new cohort of academic, public- and private-sector analysts where their skills are increasingly in demand
