Entry requirements:

A-level: AAA - ABB, including a science subject (science subjects: Biology, Human Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Physics and Physical Education). Critical Thinking and General Studies excluded.
Applicants taking a Science A-level (in England) will be required to achieve a pass in the practical element in addition to the standard A-level grade requirement.
- IELTS 6.0 overall, with no less than 5.5 in any component or equivalent English language qualification.

Biosciences benchmark, adapted to be appropriate to Sport and Exercise Sciences programmes, incorporating elements of the benchmark for Hospitality, Sport, Leisure and Tourism.

Programme specification:

By the end of this programme, students should have a broad understanding of each of the major sport and exercise science disciplines and their relationship to sport and exercise, with an in-depth appreciation of exercise physiology. They will have been introduced to state-of-the-art techniques currently in use in research laboratories and will have an understanding of the mathematical, theoretical and conceptual foundations of biomechanics, exercise physiology, motor control and sports and exercise psychology.

Analytical, evaluation and design skills necessary for work in a research environment will have been developed. Specific and/or transferable skills necessary to become a sports and exercise scientist, or someone working in a sport and exercise environment, including postgraduate training and research opportunities leading to for example, physiotherapy, masters by research or PGCE teaching.

Year-long periods of study abroad and working in industry are options for some students.
