Entry requirements:

Applicants will normally possess a good honours degree (2.1 and above) in health science from a recognised higher education institution or certified evidence of an ability to study at level 5 (Master’s).
Current registration with a United Kingdom healthcare professional governing body (e.g. NMC).
Applicants should have written endorsement from their employing organisation that they are supported to undertake the programme of study.

It will not be possible for students who had previously undertaken DONE 5004 Advanced Assessment & Diagnostic Reasoning and DONE 5003 Advancing Nursing Practice in Direct Care to transfer these credits to this programme. They may however be exempt from some taught aspects of the course.

Programme specification:

The Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Assessment will provide a programme that:
- is flexible in module access;
- offers a clear clinical focus;
- is open to healthcare practitioners involved in clinical assessment;
- foster interdisciplinary working;
- is patient-centred.

Programme Aims

The aim of the programme is to enable practitioners to develop knowledge and skills in clinical assessment in order to practice in a way commensurate with their role and personal development. Additional to this is the intention to provide high quality teaching and learning in order to deliver exceptional student experience.
