Programme specification:

The programme will provide a sound education in physics with particular application to astrophysics. The programme focuses on gaining an understanding of the physical principles that control the natural world as a whole with special reference to the origin and evolution of planets, stars and the universe. There is also an emphasis on hands-on experience that is gained in laboratory and computing modules as well as project work.

Every student has the opportunity to use the telescopes conveniently located in the School's Observatory on the roof of the building. An endowment fund specifically for the observatory allows students to use state-of-the-art detectors and spectrographs.
