Learning outcomes

On completion of the year students should have provided evidence of being able to:
- engage in everyday conversation, write basic sentences and read simple texts in Arabic.
- acquire academic and practical knowledge of contemporary Morocco/Egypt.
- develop personal independence, self-confidence, and the social and interpersonal skills required by group life.

Transferable (key) skills

Students will have had the opportunity to develop and practise:

- oral, written and practical skills in Arabic;
- the organisation of life and study in Morocco/Egypt;
- inter-personal skills required to operate in Arabic society
- the ability to appreciate their strengths and weaknesses as learners;
- skills necessary for the communication of information;
- skills necessary for the exercising of personal responsibility and decision making.

Assessment

Achievement will be assessed (on a Pass/Fail basis) by a variety of methods in accordance with the learning outcomes specified for the residence abroad and will include:

- successful completion of all courses including the language and studies exams as set by students' host university
