Learning outcomes

On completion of the year/programme students should have provided evidence of being able to:

- demonstrate familiarity with key concepts and principles underlying the study of language and education;
- demonstrate familiarity with practical competencies which are standard features in the study of language and education;
- communicate the results of their learning effectively and with confidence;
- present a structured and coherent simple argument;
- demonstrate a reflective approach to the study of language and education.

Transferable (key) skills

Students will have had the opportunity to acquire, as defined in the modules specified for the programme:

- qualities and transferable skills necessary for professional work in learning and teaching language
- skills necessary for communicating learning.

Assessment

Achievement will be assessed by a variety of methods in accordance with the learning outcomes of the modules specified for the year/programme and will include:

- demonstrating the ability to communicate a broad range of knowledge and competencies
- the ability to evaluate and criticise received opinion.
