Learning outcomes
On completion of the year students should have provided evidence of being able to:- engage in everyday conversation with native speakers, write with grammatical accuracy in the Russian and read texts of an intermediate level in Russian.- acquire academic and practical knowledge of contemporary Russia.- develop personal independence, self-confidence, and the social and interpersonal skills required by group life.
Transferable (key) skills
Students will have had the opportunity to develop and practise:- oral, written and practical skills in Russian;- the organisation of life and study in Russia;- inter-personal skills required to operate in Russian society- the ability to appreciate their strengths and weaknesses as learners;- skills necessary for the communication of information;- skills necessary for the exercising of personal responsibility and decision making.
Assessment
Achievement will be assessed (on a Pass/Fail basis) by a variety of methods in accordance with the learning outcomes specified for the residence abroad and will include:• • - Students must pass all examinations and class tests set by TsMO, achieving not lower than 66% overall in the final test with one mark of 60% for one sub-test allowed - Students must submit a written outline plan of their Residence Abroad project to the Department in January. - Students must attend a minimum of 70% of classes run by TsMO. - Students must receive a satisfactory report from TsMO on conduct and work.
