Learning outcomes
On completion of the programme, students should have an evidenced ability to:-demonstrate coherent and detailed subject knowledge and professional competencies, some of which will be informed by recent research/scholarship in Philosophy, HPS and Psychology;- deploy accurately standard techniques of analysis and enquiry within Philosophy, HPS and Psychology;- demonstrate a conceptual understanding which enables the development and sustaining of both philosophical and psychological arguments;- describe and comment on particular aspects of recent research and.or scholarship on the subject of the mind;- appreciate the uncertainty, ambiguity and limitations of current knowledge in Philosophy, HPS and Psychology- make appropriate use of scholarly reviews and primary sources pertaining to the nature of mind.- apply their knowledge and understanding in order to initiate and carry out an independent study in Philosophy or HPS- conform to professional boundaries and norms where applicable

Students will have had the opportunity to acquire, as defined in the modules specified for the programme:- qualities and transferable skills necessary for employment;- skills necessary for the exercising of personal responsibility.
Assessment
Achievement will be assessed by a variety of methods in accordance with the learning outcomes of the modules specified for the year/programme and will include:- demonstrating the ability to apply a broad range of aspects of Philosophy, HPS and Psychology;- work that draws on a wide variety of material in the areas related to the study of the mind;- the ability to evaluate and criticise received opinion in scholarship related to the mind;- evidence of an ability to conduct independent, in depth enquiry;- work that is typically both evaluative and creative.- demonstrating emerging abilities, skills and competencies.
