Learning outcomes

On completion of Year 1, students should have provided evidence of being able to:

LO1 (Year 1): Demonstrate a basic knowledge of decision making as a rational, behavioural and organisational process
LO2 (Year 1): Research structured business problems with the ability to identify the critical factors involved
LO3 (Year 1): Apply mathematical and statistical tools accurately to analyse structured problems in economics and business
LO4 (Year 1): Critically evaluate and interpret the results of data analysis in structured business and economics problems
LO5 (Year 1): Write and communicate effectively including the preparation of professional-level reports
LO6 (Year 1): Exhibit good presentation skills
LO7 (Year 1): Work well in teams, demonstrating good interpersonal skills and good ability to function sensitively and productively when working with others
LO8 (Year 1): Demonstrate an awareness of ethics, integrity and responsibility in undertaking data analysis
LO9 (Year 1): Demonstrate a good awareness of globalisation and the importance of cultural insight in management and business

Assessment

Achievement will be assessed by a variety of methods in accordance with the learning outcomes of the modules specified for Year 1 and will include:

- demonstrating the knowledge and application of standard concepts, information and techniques relevant to business analytics and the related business disciplines
- work that covers the basics of business analytics and the related business disciplines
- demonstrating emerging abilities, skills and competencies
