Learning outcomes
On completion of level 1 of the programme, students should have provided evidence of being able to: 1. Apply a critical understanding of theories of business management across a range of organisational contexts in the following areas:- Management- Accounting-Human resource management-Marketing-Innovation and Enterprise-Economics-Organisational Behaviour2. Use relevant academic, quantitative, communication, problem solving and reflective skills for undergraduate study of Business Management.3. Engage critically with core programme threads i.e. Ethics and Responsibility; Global and Cultural Insight and Employability
Transferable (key) skills
Students will have had the opportunity to acquire, as defined in the modules specified for the programme:-ability to analyse and critically evaluate issues in business management and to relate theoretical understanding to practice;-academic skills required for enquiry along with the ability to communicate information, understanding, arguments and analysis in a variety of forms; -ability to apply learning to practical situations and to gain from experience of work;-professional qualities and skills necessary for employment and professional development in business management roles.
Assessment
Achievement will be assessed by a variety of methods in accordance with the learning outcomes of the modules specified for the year/programme and will include:-opportunity to demonstrate understanding of relevant concepts and theoretical perspectives in business management and ability to apply these to practical settings;-use of a range of formats for assessed work that develop skills of effective communication for both academic and professional settings;-encouragement to explore new ideas and to test, evaluate and criticise received opinion.
