Learning outcomes

On completion of the year/programme students should have provided evidence of being able to:

Transferable (key) skills

- Development of clinical independence and resilience in respect of oral surgery

Assessment

Achievement for the degree of Master (taught programme) will be assessed by a variety of methods in accordance with the learning outcomes of the modules specified for the year/programme and will include:
- Submission of a research dissertation on a subject of the students choice. The research question, methodology, research and analysis will be performed by the student.
- Demonstration of the ability to perform minor oral surgery to the level of an advanced practitioner.
- Demonstration of the ability to anticipate complications in clinical settings and act accordingly to deliver effective care.
- Demonstration of the ability to deal with unexpected occurrences in the clinical setting and manage them according to evidence and with reference to pathophysiology and clinical experience.
- drawing on a range of perspectives on an area of study;
- evaluating and criticising received opinion;
- making reasoned judgements whilst understanding the limitations on judgements made in the absence of complete data.
