Learning outcomes
On completion of the year/programme students should have provided evidence of being able to: - Use drawing as a vehicle to analyse, record and respond to observation and other sources - Demonstrate a familiarity with the relationship between materials, processes and concepts in the design process - Demonstrate a familiarity of the context within which their practice operates. - Demonstrate simple repeat patterns suitable for textile application - Develop the formation of a design collection - Work safely and competently in a given textile design workshop environment
Transferable (key) skills
Students will have had the opportunity to acquire, as defined in the modules specified for the programme: qualities and transferable skills necessary for employment related to the subject area(s) studied; - skills necessary for the exercising of personal responsibility. Development of an enquiring, analytical and creative approach to visual culture - Develop critical self-awareness. - Develops a range of cognitive abilities related to the aesthetic and social contexts of human experience.
Assessment
Achievement will be assessed by a variety of methods in accordance with the learning outcomes of the modules specified for the year/programme and will include: - demonstrating the knowledge and application of standard concepts, information and techniques relevant to the discipline; - work that covers a restricted area of the discipline; - demonstrating emerging abilities, skills and competencies.
