Learning outcomes

On completion of the year/programme students should have provided evidence of being able to:
demonstrate a familiarity with the basic concepts, information, practical competencies and techniques which are:
-use basic generic and subject specific intellectual qualities i.e.
- be able to communicate the results of their work;
- present a structured and coherent simple argument;
- be able to interpret and evaluate the underlying concepts and principles of the discipline;
- evaluate qualitative and/or quantitative data;
- demonstrate an ability to evaluate the appropriateness of different approaches to problem solving associated with the discipline;
- appreciate their strengths and weaknesses as learners;

Transferable (key) skills

- qualities and transferable skills necessary for employment in assistant practitioner roles in health or social care;
- skills necessary for the exercising of professional responsibility as an assistant healthcare practitioner

Assessment

- demonstrating the knowledge and application of standard concepts, information and techniques relevant to assistant practitioner roles;
- use of a range of formats for assessment that develop skills of effective communication for both academic and professional settings;
- demonstrating abilities, skills and competencies to appropriate clinical standards; * Special assessment arrangements will need to be appropriately detailed in your School's Code of Practice on Assessment.
