BSc Sport and Exercise Sciences

On completion of the year/programme students should have provided evidence of being able to:- Demonstrate a familiarity with the basic concepts and principles that underpin the study of sport and exercise sciences;- Demonstrate a familiarity with the practical competencies and techniques that are standard features sport and exercise sciences;- Demonstrate a basic understanding of the different research philosophies, methodologies, and data analysis techniques used in sport and exercise sciences;- Demonstrate awareness of relevant professional and ethical codes of conduct; - Demonstrate a basic understanding of the key disciplines (biomechanics, motor control, physiology, psychology) that underpin sport and exercise sciencesummarize information and data from a wide range of sources;Identify and reflect on contemporary themes and issues in sport and exercise sciences; - Explain and interpret the underlying theories, concepts and principles of sport and exercise sciences;- Collect and curate appropriate information;- Describe and evaluate exercise behaviour and sport performance in the laboratory
Transferable (key) skills

Achievement will be assessed by a variety of methods in accordance with the learning outcomes of the modules specified for the year/programme and will include:- demonstrating the knowledge and application of standard concepts, information and techniques relevant to sport and exercise sciences;- work that covers a restricted area of sport and exercise sciences;- demonstrating emerging abilities, skills and competencies.
