Learning outcomes
On completion of the programme students should have demonstrated:Knowledge of:1. The key theoretical perspectives that inform understanding of:- The process of being a learner,- Management of the teaching & learning process,- Working with challenging learners,- Curriculum development & assessment practice,- Contemporary issues in learning & education,- Working with partners in learning,- The role, & practice, of work-based learning.2. The relevant professional structures & roles;3. The latest research in the field & its relationship to the development of policy & practice.Ability to:- Evaluate their practice against the relevant professional standards,- Relate theoretical understanding to work-settings as a reflective practitioner,- Evaluate evidence & information from relevant sources including recent research & contemporary practice,- Interpret & evaluate the underlying theoretical concepts & principles of the discipline,- Communicate the results of their studies effectively in written work & verbal presentations,- Present a structured & coherent argument that engages critically with the complexity & breadth of the topic under consideration,- Conform to professional standards & norms of ethics, presentation & communication of information,- Appreciate their strengths & developmental needs as learners.-Demonstrate the correct use of standard English including grammar, punctuation and spelling
