Objectives

To conduct an in-depth structured review of the literature; to critically evaluate and record the findings through a coherent framework; to produce and substantiate a piece of work which is predominantly evaluative; to generate and disseminate recommendations that will enhance Evidence Based practice.

Syllabus

Students will discuss their dissertation with their supervisor. They will discuss a plan of action and draft work will be reviewed by the supervisor. The review should demonstrate a substantial knowledge of the relevant literature and produce findings that are appropriate. The onus is on a partnership between student and supervisor to agree an appropriate aspect of maternity care for review. Aims of the review; searching and evaluating the literature; create an appropriate framework; write a comprehensive report of the review; disseminating the information.
