Objectives
On completion of this module, students should be able to:Demonstrate awareness of changes in the employment market;
Understand what are the higher level skills required by employers;
Match personal qualities and experience with recruitment criteria;
Make use of a range of job-search strategies including on-line web searches;
Understand and reflect upon own decision-making criteria in relation to career planning;
Develop realistic career plans;
Create a working CV and covering letter.

Syllabus
The aim of this syllabus is to prepare students for re-entry into the work-force at skills level NVQ4.
Students will: be introduced to ideas and evidence of the changing pattern of the labour market and to the changing pattern of skills required ; have the opportunity to experience job-search strategies, both local and national, including web searches; match personal qualities and experience with recruitment criteria; learn to analyse job adverts and be supported in constructing realistic career plans, including a working CV and covering letter; have the opportunity to create and make a careers presentation.
