Pre-requisites
At least 80 credits in History and Philosophy of ScienceObjectives
On completion of this module students will be able to design and fulfil a programme of independent learning and assessment in history and philosophy of science, in which teachers of history and philosophy of science and related subjects will serve as a resource. Other objectives to be negotiated between the student(s) and a nominated supervisor or supervisors.Syllabus
Any topic in the History and Philosophy of Science may be studied independently, subject to the availability of one or more qualified supervisors and subject to the approval of the Chair of the Division of History and Philosophy of Science.
Teaching methods
Students are entitled to a minimum of 3 hours of supervision time. Details of timing form and duration of meetings to be negotiated between supervisor(s) and student(s)
Methods of assessment
To be negotiated with student, and approved by Departmental Courses Committee in consultation with External Examiner.
