At the end of this module, students will understand the competing theoretical perspectives on economic policy relating to the British Economy since circa 1975 and be able to evaluate relevant current issues and policy questions in macroeconomics.Syllabus
Competing economic perspectives on macroeconomic policy and performance; inflation; unemployment; the non-accelerating inflation rate of unemployment (NAIRU); monetary policy; current policy topics.
Teaching methods
Lectures: 11 x 1 hour; classes: 5 x 1 hour.
Private study
